The plan
Host Fast Pitch event to empower ten of the foundation’s grantee organizations with a chance to earn additional funding and be paired with a Honda employee mentor. Coach organizational leaders to tell their most compelling impact stories.

The challenge
The City of Los Angeles, the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, tasked the LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI) to provide business resources to start-ups and small businesses in underserved areas with the purpose of creating a more resilient economy through increased jobs and more financially thriving businesses.

The plan
We designed the Founders Business Accelerator, aimed at supporting small Angeleno businesses by providing resources, training and networking opportunities. Our team designed a three-month curriculum to increase knowledge, resilience and development strategies to help businesses thrive. We partnered with the Mayor’s office, LADWP, city council members and other influential business organizations to further amplify our message and provide resources.

Waste Upcycling

 

The challenge
Subaru, sought to offer branded merchandise to its progressive and passionately environmentally-conscious customers that better aligns with their commitment to sustainability.

The plan
After a materials audit, we partnered with Rewilder to create a line of zero-waste goods in line with Subaru’s brand promise and sustainability goals to build brand loyalty through good design and responsible materials. From 8 prototypes, Subaru selected two products: tote bags and dog leashes, to sell through Subaru Gear online store.

The results
➤ Created cool, functional fashionable products from 100% upcycled automotive waste salvaged recycled materials

➤ Created an initial batch of 300 bags and 100 leashes, and sold out on six more orders

➤ Supported Subaru in its commitment to sustainability, fair & local labor
